About
Poseymetalworx

My Name is Jason Posey

I want to give you some insight into Poseymetalworx LLC. Where I come from and how I see things, maybe I can help you find the passion that I have found in metalwork. I will start with a little history about myself,  I was born and raised in a rural Appalachian town in Rabun County, Georgia. I loved playing in the woods and the creeks at my grandfather's and behind my childhood home. My Grandfather was a gunsmith, and being the first grandchild, he took me under his wing, and I was fascinated with the work he did. He taught me so many things about metallurgy, welding, woodworking and just plain life. I spent every waking moment that I could with him, watching and learning. As I got older, I spent more time with my own father who taught me about strong work ethic and taking care of your family. Dad's best friend Robert was always close by, and he taught me so much as well. Robert Murray was the curator for the Foxfire museum and was full of knowledge of all of the Old Ways... I miss those times, life was simpler.

Time moves on and I graduated high school and went to work in the fire service. Putting aside the curiosity of working with steel, but I still had fire in my veins. Now as I draw nearer to time of retirement and the age of the men who came before me and molded me to who I am now. I am reaching back and working to keep those memories alive and share the knowledge that I have gained with those who want to listen. I hope that my work inspires you to be creative and to look to the past of those who came before us and not let those ways die...
